Romantic Hawaiian Honeymoon Vacations

A Hawaiian vacation is a natural choice for a newly married couple's honeymoon plans. The lush vegetation and warm ocean breezes have created a background that is so romantic that it almost calls to young lovers. Offering everything from nightlife and some of the world's best surfing to a nearly endless supply of places to stroll with the one you love, Hawaii is has something for nearly everybody.

The question is really not if a Hawaiian getaway honeymoon is the right choice. The question truly is which Island is best suited for any one couple's Hawaiian vacation. The answer is found in knowing what each island has to offer both inherently and in activities.

Kauai: Known as the Garden Island, Kauai is home to the mountain (at the center of the island) that many claim to be the wettest place on earth - it certainly is one of the wettest. This abundant rainfall cascading down from the mountaintop combined with the abundant sunshine creates the perfect opportunity for a rich variety of plant life. Opportunities to experience the beauty of Kauai abound through such diverse opportunities as horseback riding tours and kayaking or helicopter tours. Choose Kauai for the lush scenery that has lured numerous Hollywood production crews for movies and T.V. shows from Jurassic Park, to Fantasy Island to make any Hawaiian honeymoon vacation a true fantasy that will linger in memory for years to come.

Oahu: Home to Honolulu, Oahu is the island to choose if nightlife and lots of activities are important ingredients for your honeymoon. Likewise, Pearl Harbor can be found on Oahu. Still, the island is not all city though many visitors make the mistake of never leaving the city and thus never see the sugar cane and pineapple fields. Find other famous locations such as Waikiki, Diamond Head, and the North Shore on Oahu as well.

Molokai: If one wants a slow pace of life admiring the beauty of God's creation with their new spouse, then this is the island for them. Last I knew there were no shopping malls or nightclubs to be found on Molokai but there are abundant opportunities to hike, bike, scuba , or wander Hawaii's largest and least visited beach.

Lanai: The smallest of the Hawaiian Islands at a mere 140 square miles. Once home to vast pineapple plantations, Lanai is a great option for a new couple to simply enjoy the romance of Hawaii.  On Lanai you can add adventure to your trip through snorkeling, kayaking, or taking a 4x4 expedition into the back country.

Maui: Perhaps the most famous of all the Hawaiian Islands, the name Maui has come to be synonymous with the paradise and romance that we associate with Hawaii due to its legendary beaches. Likewise, it's proximity to Molokai and Lanai, make it easy to catch a inter island ferry to enjoy one of the other two islands without having to change hotels, yet its larger population means there will always be something to do.

Hawaii - the Big Island: The islands known as Hawaii today got their name from the island of Hawaii when King Kamehameaha united the islands under his leadership. It is known as "the big island" because it is approximately twice the size of all the other Hawaiian Islands combined. Home to five volcanos (some snow covered, - though not Kilauea as it has been actively erupting since 1983). Choose the big island to view Kilauea's eruption, visit the famous black sand beaches, visit King Kamehameaha's compound, Captain Cook's Monument, tour groves of the world famous Kona Coffee or macadamia nut farms, and visit the Parker Ranch - or time your Hawaiian vacation to coincide with the Ironman Triathlon.

One fun option a Hawaiian cruise. There are a variety of cruises to choose from, of course, but in my opinion the best option is the cruise which stops at each of the islands, giving its passengers an opportunity to stop and sample highlights of each of the Hawaiian islands.

Whatever island you choose for your Hawaiian honeymoon vacation take time to snorkel with sea turtles, enjoy the sun drenched beaches, go horseback riding in the lush tropical foliage, whale watching, take a helicopter ride, go deep sea fishing, view sea life from the comfort of a submarine or a glass bottom boat. There are so many things to do on a Hawaiian honeymoon that it will not be long before it will be time to start planning another Hawaiian vacation.

Another way of choosing which island to explore on your Hawaiian Vacation honeymoon getaway is to take a look at the activities that are available on each island.  There really are so many options that virtually every individual can find to make their trip to paradise perfect for their interests.
